Does anybody know the real story behind this failed reunion in 2000?DLR states they did 3 songs and then they quit. Now I have heard that the sticking point was Dave wanted it to be called Van Halen with David Lee Roth.Anybody know what really happen? What was the name of the songs?

I've also heard that there was an attempt in 2000. I read that on melodicrock, I think. I also think there was at one point something on VHND about it...if it's still there, I'll see what I can find. Wonder where we'd get the information like this? BEN? Any leads?

I've heard that too.... Do you really think it would have worked for long though? I really don't.... And besides, I don't think Dave would be down with singing any Sammy era stuff, and I don't think he would have sounded good doing so.

Eddie's music has advanced beyond Dave. If Eddie would spaz out and just play some of the raw power chord, dredge beat stuff like on I or fair warning, maybe it would work. But then he would get flamed for walking backwards..

I seem to remember that Ed was asked about this once, and he said they started working on some stuff, then lawyers got involved. I also remember Dave being asked if anything was worth releasing, and he said that it was way too rough.

I don't remember my sources for either, but Ed was nabbed at some premier he went to with Val.

Imagine if the VH Vaults were opened to the Fans through a website.
What would be the 1st thing you would look for to download?
I'll even have to think about this...... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Well, that might just be the event to push me out of the Dark Ages of Dial Up and into the cable world! I'd definitely have to get another computer, or my family wife and kids would disown me! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ylsuper.gif

I know this sounds morbid, but, you know how when big rock acts die or fade away, then they release all the unreleased stuff for years after? i.e. Hendirx, Beatles, Zepplin. I bet some day when were in our 80's all that VH unreleased tapes and treasures will be all out there available to us all.

Ya i tend to think there is something in the vaults at 5150 that are finish tunes that someday (fingers crossed)will be released. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ylsuper.gif
