5 star was totally worth it. Front row seats, soundcheck, free food and free beer.

I can't ever say that I'll agree with paying that much for the five star seats and getting that little, but the four star package seemed to be worth it. Got a pretty cool laminate, a t-shirt....and in some people's case....got seats closer to the stage than the FIVE STAR people did....

I had a good time at the Las Vegas show back in August, and soundcheck was definitely the hi-light of the whole thing. I will agree, for what I paid - over $900 for two tickets, our seats sucked. Being that it was in Vegas all the good seats were 'given' to the VIPs and High Rollers of Mandalay, only a very few 5*s actually got within 5 rows of the stage, we were in row 11. Ah, anyways, you've all read my review already on that show. I did go on Friday the 22nd at the Key Arena in Seattle and I will post that review shortly.
Adios

I dont think that's a band issue though. Doesnt ILAA do all of that independent of the band?

here the shirt ya got at Satriani $200...besides autographing my guitar, guitar pick, best seat in the house, pics with Joe,Romed around on stage..no problem....big friggin difference, for half the price....Fanfire was the company the ran it and they were great and ontime unlike ILAA who were 30 min late.....the band does give rights and can chose!

Whether I'm outta line sayin this or not but correct me if I'm wrong. In Five star dont you get a seat in the first 2 rows? In Five star dont you get to go to soundcheck to see one of the greatest guitar players ever? In soundcheck can you not get autographs from the band we all love so much? If all this is true, and I know it's true because I had a 5* for Toronto, then STOP COMPLAINING!!! So what about the shitty t-shirt. I admit it was lame but I never bought the package for the t-shirt or the hat or the laminate. I know that some 5 Stars were lame because people were pissing Eddie off well then who's fault is that Van Halen's or our fault? Just tired of people knit picking every single thing this badn does. There doing this for us, no matter how much money it is.

Everybody's going to have their own different views on the ILAA five star stuff. Some people said it's worth it, some people said it's not. No reason for any hostility from anybody over it. Voice your concerns at ILAA, not at each other, I say..... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

I don't want to piss people off here BUT!!!
Why is it that people who have everything whinge about things when they don't get what they really think they deserve.
Take me for example.....Here I am over 18,000km away in Oz starved for a Van Halen show. I cannot afford to take a plane trip to the states and see my favourite band. I would accept nose bleed seats glady. It has been spoken of among many Van Halen fans in Australia and the UK, that American fans have no bloody idea how good they have it when it comes to see their favourite band. I read about some guy saying it was too far to drive 4 houts to see his fav band. 4 hours!!!! Christ it takes me 14 hours by plane to get to L.A from Sydney.
Please oh Please my American friends, don't make it harder than it already is for us fans who cannot drive, ride or even walk to a show with ease. I would gladly accept an old dirty roadie rag JUST to see my favourite band live one more time! Stop the bitchin about the shirt! Just see how good you have it!
/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/brickwall.gif
BTW..This is not entirely directed at all US fans just those who cannot see beyond their borders.
Ok, I'll step down from my beer crate now.
Slings and arrows are welcome.
You put you chin out there, be prepared for someone to take a swing at it from time to time.
