Back in my day, maybe...but a stroke (Paralyzed vocal chords) and too much liquor later (Damn you sammy hagar)...and I'm pretty much a 'crack glass and haul ass" kinda guy (I'm workin on it though..day by day...) Find me in a year, I might be able to somewhat pull THAT off....(not). But...I'll never say no, and I'm not ashamed to try if I have to...so post it and we'll see what happens..

Thanks for the imput. Sry for the late reply.(two long work days.) I just got a Tascam DP-01. they offer another modle the DP-01FX, it is the same as the first, but has an effects proccesor built in. I already have a separate processor, (the Digitech RP200.) so I got the first one mentioned. Regarding the settings on 316, I just used a clean setting while tweeking the reverb and delay. I set the EQ at: Bass all the way up, mid. all down and treb. all the way up. The RP200 has a great range of sounds. I have a pretty good copy of the Balance era sound and the F.U.C.K sound. Ohh yeah i used a peavey special amber.

Hey Guys, I'm new to the site and I'm looking for some help with the effects on Van Halen my equipment is pretty much crap, I've got a zoom 606 pedal and a 30 watt amp but I recentley learned Ain't talkin 'bout love and I wondered how to set my pedal to make it sound like the CD

That is going to be hard to do, what kind of guitar do you have?? I belive the sounds you need for that sound is a flanger and hermonics at the same time, on the one part, the rest just use a good clean distortion....kinda an oxymoron (sorry i cant spell that one)

First off, IMO the most important ingredient in this equation is a tube amp. A must, if you want to replicate the EVH sound. If the 606 has modeling capabilities, then check them out. Use your ears. As for effects, play around with flanging, phasing and delay. Again, use your ears. Happy jamming. :guitar3:

My Boss GT-8 has a amp model called "5150" it sounds great for a pedal, and its about as close as I will get probally until I get a real one. I also just noticed the peavey 6505 and 6505+ just went on sale to the public, they are very cool amps and sound very close to the 5150. I recentlly about a month ago got to try one out at my local music store and it really cranked, the only problem was you really dont get a good sound unless it is VERY loud, my parrents wouldent like it if I brought one of those home. :music: :goofy:
