Eddie Van Halen's Divorce Petition

TMZ.com (http://tmz.aol.com/) has posted a copy of the actual eight-page divorce petition filed by actress Valerie Bertinelli in connection with her 24-year union with legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen. The papers, filed on Tuesday (Dec. 6) in Los Angeles County Superior Court, cite irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. The couple wed on April 11, 1981, and have one son, 14-year-old Wolfgang Van Halen. According to the petition, they separated on Oct. 15, 2001.

According to The Associated Press, Bertinelli shot to fame as the sexy 15-year-old daughter of Bonnie Franklin on the hit television show "One Day at a Time", which aired from 1975 to 1984. She rejoined Franklin and Mackenzie Phillips, who played her sister, for a reunion show earlier this year. She was also a regular on television's "Touched by an Angel" from 2001 to 2003.

Van Halen, 50, is one of the most celebrated lead guitarists in rock music. He rose to fame in the late 1970s, along with his brother, drummer Alex Van Halen, vocalist David Lee Roth and bassist Michael Anthony as members of VAN HALEN.

The group was known for wild excess both on and offstage in its early years, and Van Halen, once a heavy smoker, was treated for cancer in 2000 and 2001.

It seems that today being a musician and making music is something that only few people gives everything totally to it. Everything is just making business and money, how's got the biggest houses and the best cars. Maybe Ed and Al just doens't wants to be at all part of that. They just live their lives and are much happier than daily explaining why the band is back together and why there was a break up and so and so. They have done so long that maybe its time to do something diffrent. I wish that Ed and Al are in great condition and just do what they want to do. I dont want to read any of Mad Anthony sausages or Sammys Teguilas. I want new music, not new products. The divorce is sad, but what a heck, how many marriages ends to divorce? Too ducking many. That's life. Maybe the future is in Wolfgang and Eric Van Halen, not their dads!
