I am a big VH fan and a huge Sammy fan, so I've always wished that Sammy returns to Van Halen for good, but after all those amazing albums from Sammy and the Wabos I kinda wish that Sammy stays with his Wabos.
Listen to this new song, compare them to the last 3 tunes Sammy did with VH and you know what I mean.

Please VH, DON'T ask Sammy back, he is doing a lot better on his own.

I had my local classic rock station on this morning and they played a rock block of Sam. The last song was his brand new release "Sam I Am". Well friends, if the rest of the new album is like this, we are in for a long awaited treat. It is rockin', fresh, and crazy-good.

If you are like me, you've wanted something new: truly new. This is it. It has a heavy blues element, kind of like Finish What You Started. Damn. I just really like this song.

Has anybody else heard it?

I only listened to it once and I like it. However, I'm not going to listen to it more than once, since that seriously ruins the fun for me when the complete album is out. You know what I'm saying, when the album is out, you always skip the first single, Sam I am in this case. I want to hear the entire album at once without thinking...I already know this song or that song. That is why I also dislike those Best of..albums. I didn't buy the Best of Van Halen and I didn't buy the Best of Both worlds.

i'm a bit disappointed by the tracklist. Nr. 9 is an acoustic version of a song from 'Not 4 sale'. Nr. 8 everybody knows already by now. Nr. 7 is a Bob Dylan cover. Nr. 5 is a Toby Keith cover.

Well, that is actually a very tough question, cause sometimes he says it's called LIU and sometimes he says TWWL.:eek:

In fact when he played the song on 05/05, Sam talked about how the record company kept telling him the song won't work and how he can't put a song on an album about and for the fans. He told'em to go F themselves and went ahead and did it anyways. Then he went right into the song. Believe it or not, I actually got a bit choked up :redface: after the speech and really felt good about being a Redhead ( I looked over at Bones and gave him the look and fist to the heart pose) with the knowledge that, well that is OUR song! Written by the man for US and know one else.

Anyhoo, long story a bit shorter, I think it is going to be one of those songs with the title and a bit more in ( ) on the album back cover...but I suppose we won't truly know until this summer now will we?:sorry:

It's how I managed upon several great albums in the last six months, way before tehy were released (and those who got them, know what I refer to). This one...is different..it's not out there, and nobody's really seen or heard much of it in the line of "leaks". Bones? You do this for a livin, I'm sure you can attest to what I speak of, albeit unofficially. I've hunted around, and I can't really find anywhere in WRITING that actually SAYS the release date for sure.....anyone know a definite date?

Yep albums come are way sometimes weeks before the release date. Our rep gave me a few Sam I am singles a few weeks back on nothing on the disc to indicate an album will follow. No "from the forthcoming album..." I have some contacts I might make a call to see if I can get any other information but I get the feeling the album isnt coming out anytime soon. They did at one point set a release date as April 1st but we all know that never happened.
