I don't get it. The guy supposodly has 1000's of songs, and has enough material to fit 15 cd's. Why doesn't he release it? You would think he would like to make a few extra million or two by releaseing his archive of music. I can see it now The Eddie Van Halen Archive Boxset 15 cd's of amazing guitar playing for the low low price of $199.99. At this point, ed has nothing to lose.

I don't think we have to wait for that long, Ed is already doing a photoshoot (see another post) for his solo album (I hope). That's what he said on Howard Stern, didn't he?? :seeyeah:

I'd say its maybe possible. I think he's out of the cd making mode, its been well over 10 years since his last VH cd came out. If he does release a cd, I'm not sure how good it would be, he's in pretty bad shape, and those 2 new VH songs were the best of his "batch", and I didn't enjoy the 2 new ones that much, I'll put it this way, the best has already been done, and Eddie will never make better music than the classics. It is best to listen to the classics and love it, then to be dissapointed with the new stuff.

I agree it is hard to beat the old VH classics again, but maybe he is doing an instrumental album. That is so totally different, that we don't compare it to old VH albums.

Chances are that he would have vocals on them, he's into singing himself, and wolfgang also sings, but I wouldn't be surprised if a few tracks were instrumental.

BTW, please accept my friends request on Myspace Matt.

oh dear God, no vocals from Eddie. that would be a huge mistake. And I don't know about Wolfgang singing. Never heard from a reliable source that he can sing. Just some guessing from certain people, I think.

I hope I'm not stuck in the position of having to budget for a 2c box set and a concert ticket in one year. Give me a good old fashioned ep, or a new-fangled iTunes special release, with a package of wicked instrumentals.

Make Wolfie earn our respect by cutting instrumental tracks with wicked bass parts. Make us WANT to hear Wolfie play live.

I've dreamed of an evh trio for a long time. I think it could be on the horizon. A part of me really doesn't want the Dave thing to work out, so that we can move on from the VH on/off cycle and hear what he has on his mind NOW.

If the best is behind us, so be it. But, let's give something new and crazy a chance.

They better not make a box set with 3 cd's of old songs, and just 3 new songs. I was pissed off at the last compilation cd, I already owned EVERY single song except the new ones, why would I pay 25 bucks for new 3 songs??? I just ended up getting them from a friend, if I bought every single VH CD, I'm not gonna buy a 25 dollar cd for 3 new songs that weren't that great.
