What are your thoughts on the NFL season? In general who do you think was the biggest surprise? It was a crazy year for both college and pro football, with a surprising Champion the Giants.
I personally think, the biggest surprise has been the Lions; they started a shocking 6 and 2 and then fell to 7 and 9, if they had held it together in the final minute of the Dallas game, they would have gone at least 9 and 7.
However the Packers and Bret Favre are also surprises, Favre has always been that good; even if the rest of the team hasn't. I hope he comes back next year and wins it all.

Moved this over to sports section...
I was very surprsed by the Lions start. Unfortunately, I wasn't all that surprised how the last half of the season went. It is promising though for the upcoming season.
In college, I think the obvious is all of the upsets and how the top 10 teams couldn't stay there very long....

You Detroit fans are an interesting bunch...I highly doubt that even 10% of NFL fans would consider the Lions typical collapse was anything but standard modus operandi...oh wait, that 10% would be folks from Michigan wouldn't it?
LOL.

Yeah, Trev, pretty much!
It's a funny thing being a Lions fan. No matter what, we always have some sort of hope that they're gonna do well, and every year, they don't even come close. So then, we want people fired and players traded (as if that will do anything). What it comes down to is ownership. The Ford family doesn't give a rats ass about football. Owning the team is their way of having their family out there for something other than crappy cars. Until the team is owned by a winner who will do anything it takes to get to the end result (Super Bowl), we will continue to suffer. (Does anybody know Mike Illich's phone number????)

With the cast they have now, and marinelli as the head coach, I think they'll contend for the playoffs... They'll make it sometimes, and other times they wont; I worry that they'll turn into the jaguars.. However, Kitna is a solid QB and his numbers are pretty damn good; but he's not getting any younger. I think he's somwhere between 32-35. I hope Drew Stanton is going to be ready to take over after next season..
Not to mention if they so choose, they can run the ball with the best of them Kevin Jones, TJ Duckett, Tatum Bell. That's a scary combo.
